Mississippi River Storytelling

In 2012 I solo canoed the entire Mississippi River from Lake Itasca, Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico. It was a trip of a lifetime.

The Mississippi River travels over 2300 miles from source to sea. Its watershed covers 32 states, 2 Canadian provinces, and represents roughly 40% of the continental United States.

Since then, I have shared stories of my adventure with over 1000 people using song, photos, videos, and excerpts from the journals I kept. I have visited retirement facilities, kindergarten classrooms, and local pubs to share stories from the river. Check out old newspaper articles here and here.

Although the trip was nearly a decade ago, I continue to share the experiences I had with wiling audiences. Presentations usually last about hour with a little Q and A, and a projector/computer set up is nice to show photos and videos.

Presentations to school groups and folks with limited budgets are free of charge

For groups with a budget, depending on the size of group and travel time involved my speaking fee ranges from 50$-500$.
